Why use pdf files and Acrobat reader?

pdf files are usually a smaller file size for faster downloading
pdf files are self-contained. It is not possible to guarantee that a Word document look the same on my computer/printer as it does on your computer/printer. The pdf version will appear exactly the same whatever computer you use
